In November of 2020, The Latvian Radio Choir (LRC) will celebrate the 80th anniversary since the founding of the choir, lead by the legendary conductor Teodors Kalniņš. The LRC anniversary concerts will be held in Cēsis and Rīga. Already on the 17th of October at the concert hall Cēsis, the choir’s creative director and conductor Sigvards Kļava will lead the performance of the programme Daybreak, dedicated to the Latvian choral classics; on the 30th of October the audiences will get to experience the newest addition to the annually recurring LRC programme Canti Sacri (Sacred Chants), which was created and is produced by conductor Kaspars Putniņš; and on the 3rd of December, the Riga Cathedral will host the central concert of the anniversary – the Jubilee Mass with the author and creative director of the programme Sigvards Kļava.
