 | “Pontifex” Latvian Radio choir, Sigvards Kļava, Valdis Muktupāvels. Valdis Muktupāvel’s oratorio „Pārcēlājs” („Pontifex”) is a postmodern vision concerned with the spirituality of modern world, with the heritage of ancient and modern cultures, with the inter-connectedness and mutual influence of all matters. It is an attempt to trace the connections between the Pagan and the Christian worlds and to outline a bridge between them, to find the bridge-builder (pontifex in Latin). Thematically, there is a focus on the ancient Baltic people – the Prussians – in the olden days and nowadays. The modern Pontifex is making bridges between immemorial times and the future. Performers : Latvian Radio Choir, soloists Elīna Libauere, Gundega Krūmiņa and Ārijs Šķepasts. Instrumental group Ilze Zariņa, Agnese Kanniņa–Liepiņa, Olafs Štāls, Kārlis Auzāns, Viktors Veļičko, Vairis Nartišs, Arturs Bērziņš, Gints Pabērzs, Dace Kļava, Aigars Reinis, Edgars Saksons un Valdis Muktupāvels. Conductor – Sigvards Kļava.
